Statement Regarding Chalino Z

It is with great sadness that we announce that Chalino Z (FEI ID 106DO18), an eight-year-old grey gelding ridden by Belgian athlete Karel Cox and owned by Karel Cox Horses Bvba and Louis Woestenborghs, collapsed and died in the stables at Olympia, The London International Horse Show, late last night (21st December).

Veterinary attention was immediately on hand but, despite intensive treatment, sadly the horse could not be saved.

FEI Veterinary Delegate Paul Farrington BVetMed, MRCVS said; “Everything humanly possible was done but unfortunately the horse could not be saved.”

Simon Brooks-Ward, Event Director said; “It is always sad to lose a horse and our thoughts go out to the owners and rider at this difficult time.”
